Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP)

Terms of Service for RISC-V Lab

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RISC-V Lab services (“Services”), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use RISC-V Lab.

2. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the devices of RISC-V Lab per all applicable laws and regulations. You are solely responsible for any content you submit through RISC-V Lab and the codes or the packages you save, build, install or run on the devices of RISC-V Lab. The user agrees to follow the usage policy for RISC-V Lab.

3. Prohibition of unethical means

While using the Services, users must not engage in any activities that are considered unethical, including but not limited to:

  1. Manipulation, exploitation, or unfair use of the provided resources
  2. Violation of privacy rights or unauthorized access to data
  3. Plagiarism, infringement of intellectual property, or unauthorized use of copyrighted materials.
  4. Use of the provided resources for illegal purposes or activities.
  5. Users are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that upholds integrity, honesty, and respect for others at all times while using RISC-V Lab and its related resources.

4. Fair Use

RISC-V Lab is a service being provided to grow and develop the RISC-V ecosystem. The user can use the service to develop RISC-V hardware or software.

Additionally, the following requirements apply to all users:

  1. Using network resources for crypto mining and related activities is prohibited. This is to ensure fair use so that everyone can use the resources
  2. Trying to constantly hog resources over a long period is also prohibited. RISC-V Lab may provision resources to allow for fair use
  3. There may be other fair use restrictions based on RISC-V Lab’s discretion

5. Account Registration and Security

You may need to create an account to use certain features of the devices of RISC-V Lab. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and are liable for all activities that occur under your account.

6. Privacy

The information users provide while interacting with RISC-V Lab is used only where required for providing necessary use of resources. All personal information of users of RISC-V Lab is concealed and encrypted where possible. Users have all the rights to request the removal of their provided information from RISC-V Lab.

7. Modifications to Terms

RISC-V Lab reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will become effective upon posting. Your continued use of RISC-V Lab after changes to the Terms indicates your acceptance of the modified Terms.

7.1 Modification of Terms

7.1.1 Updates and Amendments:

RISC-V Lab reserves the right to update, amend, or modify this Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) at any time and for any reason. Users will be notified of such changes through appropriate channels, and continued use of the devices of RISC-V Lab after the effective date of such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

7.1.2 Review and Acceptance:

Users are encouraged to regularly review the AUP to stay informed about any changes. By continuing to use the devices of RISC-V Lab, users acknowledge and agree to be bound by the most current version of the AUP.

7.2 Additional Features and Services

7.2.1 Introduction of New Features:

RISC-V Lab may, at its sole discretion, introduce new devices or services to enhance the functionality of the lab. The use of such features may be subject to additional terms, which will be communicated to users through the appropriate channels.

7.2.2 Termination or Modification of Features:

RISC-V Lab reserves the right to terminate or modify any features or services provided within the lab without prior notice. Users acknowledge that RISC-V Lab shall not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from such termination or modification.

7.3 Compliance with Applicable Laws

Users agree to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards when using the devices of RISC-V Lab. If changes in legal requirements necessitate modifications to the AUP, RISC-V Lab may make such modifications without prior notice to ensure compliance.

7.4 Discretionary Actions

7.4.1 Exercise of Discretion:

RISC-V Lab reserves the right to exercise its discretion in enforcing the terms of this AUP. This includes, but is not limited to, the interpretation of contractual provisions, resolution of disputes, and application of penalties for violations.

7.4.2 Good Faith:

RISC-V Lab will exercise its discretion in good faith and with the best interests of its user community and the lab in mind.

7.5 Contact Information

Users agree to provide accurate and up-to-date contact information to receive notifications about changes to the AUP or other important information related to the use of the devices of RISC-V Lab.

8. Termination

RISC-V Lab reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the Services for violation of these Terms or any other reason.

9. Disclaimers

The devices of RISC-V Lab is provided “as is” without any warranties. We do not warrant that the services will be error-free or uninterrupted.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RISC-V Lab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

11. Governing Law

This AUP is governed by the laws of your jurisdiction. Any disputes arising from or related to this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in your jurisdiction.
